Nancy’s love for animals was not simply a passion — it was the very heart of who she was. In 2009, she turned that love into something extraordinary by founding Happy Tails Animal Sanctuary, a dedicated animal rescue sanctuary on her 400-acre property in Paris, Kentucky. What began as a horse rescue quickly grew into a full animal rescue organization, providing a safe haven where neglected, abandoned, and at-risk animals could find healing, rehabilitation, and lifelong care.
Nancy never saw animals as “rescues” — she saw them as lives worth saving. Her work in animal welfare, animal rehabilitation, and pet rescue was rooted in compassion, patience, and an unwavering belief in second chances. Whether she was caring for abused horses, rescuing dogs in need of adoption, or working tirelessly to restore trust in animals that had been mistreated, Nancy approached every situation with heart and purpose.
