Happy Tails Animal Sanctuary is a nonprofit animal rescue organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of animals in need, with a primary focus on dog rescue and horse rescue. Founded in 2009, the Sanctuary has over a decade of experience in animal welfare, providing a safe haven for abused, neglected, abandoned, and at-risk animals while ensuring they receive the care, dignity, and second chance they deserve.
Since 2016, Happy Tails Animal Sanctuary has operated as a sub-organization of Forever Husky. Through this relationship, both organizations remain aligned in their shared mission of animal rescue, rehabilitation, and responsible care. Because of Happy Tails’ mission and continued dedication, this alignment strengthens the ability to support animals in need while expanding collaborative rescue efforts and long-term impact.
Over the years, Happy Tails Animal Sanctuary has evolved to better serve its mission. Originally spanning approximately 860 acres dedicated to sanctuary operations, the organization intentionally refined its focus and now operates on 60 acres. This transition allows for a more concentrated and impactful approach to active animal rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming efforts rather than long-term sanctuary-only care. As a trusted animal sanctuary and nonprofit rescue, Happy Tails Animal Sanctuary not only cares for animals within its own programs but also actively supports other animal rescue organizations, shelters, and sanctuaries. Through collaboration, funding assistance, and shared resources, the organization expands its mission to improve animal welfare nationwide, helping save more lives beyond its own facilities.
Happy Tails Animal Sanctuary is recognized as a tax-exempt nonprofit under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, in accordance with Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3).
